Dia 14 de Dezembro, das 10h às 12h, vamos ter pela primeira vez uma sessão de LARP no nosso Espaço Tabuleiro!

LARP (Live Action RolePlaying) é considerado um tipo de RPG (RolePlaying Game), mas diferente dos chamados RPGs de mesa, porque se aproxima mais do teatro do improviso. Numa LARP, as pessoas, em vez de se sentarem à volta de uma mesa e descreverem as ações das suas personagens, vão movimentar-se pelo espaço à sua volta e agir como as suas personagens agem, encarnando essas personagens não só em mente, mas também no corpo.

Sign: A Game About Being Understood é uma LARP baseada na história verídica da Língua Gestual da Nicarágua, onde crianças surdas num país sem língua gestual oficial criaram espontaneamente a sua.

Neste jogo, vais interpretar uma dessas crianças num dia de aulas numa escola nova, alternando entre aulas e recreio e tentando comunicar com as outras crianças tuas colegas.

This session is part of our RPG event Dados à Aventura [Dice to the Adventure, but a play on words in which “dados” can also mean “given to”; therefore: “given to adventure”], an event in partnership with Bardos do Mondego, Mythic Forge, Paradice, and Heroes & Beasts.

On the 14th of December, from 10:00 to 12:00, we’re gonna have the first ever LARP held at Quebra-Dados!

A live action role-playing game (LARP) is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically portray their characters, in a similar fashion to improvisation theatre. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by real-world environments while interacting with each other in character.

Sign: A Game About Being Understood is a LARP based on a true story about sign language. Nicaragua in the 1970s had no form of sign language. In 1977, something happened. Fifty deaf children from across the country were brought together to an experimental school in Managua. Without a shared language to express themselves, the children did the only thing they could — they created one. In Sign, we follow a small piece of their journey.
