Rapscallion one-shot: City in the Clouds

Let’s play an one-shot game of Rapscallion, the pirate game tabletop RPG where we collectively create a story about the pirates in a magical world of the Great Sea. You will create a character — a daring pirate who can do clever tricks and risky maneuvers. I (Dzmitry) will take the role of the Fates, and will describe how the world around you reacts to your actions.

Setting: The world of the Great Sea is full of wonder and magic,. Everything is ever-changing like the waves themselves. You can’t stop the waves or the winds — but the forces of Law still try, by draining the world of its colours. Their dull monotonous vision of the world leaves no place for your characters. Longing for freedom, they became pirates.

Adventure: Based on the City in the Cloud location from the Rapscallion rulebook.

High above the vast Great Sea, up in the sky hovers the City in the Clouds. The knowledge of what keeps this island in the air has been long forgotten. Legends tell of an ancient civilisation, untold riches and forbidden knowledge. Many a pirate dreams of a chance to uncover its secrets…

But not like this! Not when a giand Roc bird takes your whole ship in its beak, like a seagull would take a fish, and caries it up above the clouds!

In this one-shot game of Rapscallion, you’ll play as a group of pirates who have found themselves stranded in on a flying island. Can your characters discover the ancient secrets, find the fabled treasure — and get out in one piece? Let’s play to find out!

Expected play time: 4 hours (including half an hour to explain rules and create characters).

Language: English.

Pre-requisites: None. I will explain the rules in the beginning, and will help you to create your characters.
