SUMMARY:Rapscallion one-shot: Stealing from Death
DESCRIPTION:Let’s play an one-shot game of Rapscallion, the pirate game tabletop RPG where we collectively create a story about the pirates in a magical world of the Great Sea. You will create a character — a daring pirate who can do clever tricks and risky manoeuvres. I (Dzmitry) will take the role of the Fates, and will describe how the world around you reacts to your actions.\nSetting: Great Sea is the world full of adventure, magic, mystery and treasures. It’s a sea that cannot be fully mapped or truly tamed.\nYet forces of Law still try. The Law wants to replace magic with bureaucracy, trust with contracts, truth with orders, and friendship with subordination. There’s no place for you in the world of Law — that’s why you became pirates.\nAdventure: Based on the adventure hook for the Ramshackle ship in the Rapscallion rulebook.\nHidden by dense mists, protected by treacherous reefs, guarded by enormous leviathans lie the cold waters of the Realm of Death.\nThis is where the souls of those who die in the Great Sea depart to. Few would sail there on their own volition; fewer still would hope to return.\nYet this is the destination of your fearless pirate crew. You’ve consulted faded maps and esoteric star charts, pieced together tall tales and hushed whispers, to attempt a seemingly impossible theft: to steal the soul of your friend from the realm of Death and bring them back to the world of living.\nAs pirates, you’re no strangers to claiming other’s belongings. But can you steal from Death itself? Let’s play to find out!\nExpected play time: 4 hours (including 30 minutes to explain rules and create characters and a 15-minute break at around 18:00).\nLanguage: English.\nPre-requisites: None. I will explain the rules in the beginning, and will help you to create your characters. Everyone is welcome!\nPlease use the Google Sheet of the Monthy Encounters of Roleplayers of Porto to sign up. Write your name and, optionally, a Discord handle in an empty space below the adventure description (in column C, lines 16 to 25).\nCan’t use Google Sheets? You can sign-up by writing a comment here, or contact me in another way: by email at dzmitry@kushnarou.pt, or via phone at (+351) 913-567-321 (SMS, WhatsApp or Telegram).\n\nThis one-shot will be part of the Monthly Encounters of the Porto Roleplayers. Every month, fans of RPGs gather in Quebra-Dados to run all kinds of RPGs. More information about events like this is available in the RPG Portugal Discord server.\n
